Coca-Cola removes Ja Morant Powerade ads, after he showed gun on Instagram Live
Powerade pulls Ja Morant ads from social media platforms
Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has been a major trending topic on social media, over the past two weeks. This is due to incidents of him waving a gun on Instagram Live, while at a strip club. Morant was also investigated for allegedly pointing a gun at a 17-year-old teenage during a pickup basketball game, last fall. Morant wasn’t charged for either situation.
As a result, Morant has since been suspended indefinitely by the Grizzlies. He was also recently added on six games, to this suspension.
However, Morant is starting to lose support. Coca-Cola has now removed all ads that they’ve posted with Morant online, which was their Powerade brand, according to The Drum. Ads on YouTube have also been publicly removed.
The only brand that has publicly come out in support of Morant, has been Nike, who has an endorsement deal with him. Morant has a sneaker deal with the iconic athletic brand.
“We appreciate Ja’s accountability and that he is taking the time to get the help he needs,” said Nike in a recent statement. “We support his prioritization of his well-being,
