Coco Jones is named Best New Artist at BET Awards
The annual BET Awards are currently airing from Los Angeles, as fans have already been treated to various hip-hop 50th anniversary performances. Furthermore, performances have been kicking off, as well.
The award for Best New Artist has just been unveiled, as it went to R&B star, Coco Jones. Jones won this award over Doechii, Ice Spice, Lola Brooke, GloRilla, Flo, and Ambré.
Jones initially went viral in 2022, for her breakout “ICU” single. That record went on to appear on Jones’ “What I Didn’t Tell You” EP. That project contained 11 songs in total, as the deluxe edition was released this past January. Furthermore, ICU peaked at number 63 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and is certified gold by the RIAA, in the US.
Jones also made a name for herself in breaking out even more in her acting career, in 2022. She appeared in The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air reboot “Bel-Air” on Peacock, as she plays the role of Hilary Banks. Season 2 of the series aired this past spring, as a third season has also since been renewed.
I love everything about CoCo Jones. She’s deserving of this and so much more. #BETAwards pic.twitter.com/sHfBlCjJaZ
