Coi Leray and Ice Spice earn their first Grammy nominations

On Friday, nominees for the 2024 Grammys were unveiled, as many debated and discussed the various categories, as SZA also led the way for most nominations this year, with nine. Furthermore, there were plenty of first-time nominees for the annual prestigious music awards show, as well.

Moreover, Ice Spice and Coi Leray were some of the notable rappers to become first-time Grammy nominees. For Coi, she was included in nominations for Best Pop Performance Recording, for “Baby Don’t Hurt Me,” which was a collaboration with David Guetta and Anne-Marie. Coi’s smash hit single “Players” was also nominated for Best Rap Performance. That record was released in late 2022, and went on to peak at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, this past spring.

Meanwhile, Ice Spice received four Grammy nominations. These were for Best New Artist, Best Song For Visual Media (“Barbie World” with Nicki Minaj and Aqua,) Best Pop Duo/Group (Being featured on Taylor Swift’s “Karma” remix) and Best Rap Song (“Barbie World” with Nicki Minaj and Aqua).”

The 2024 Grammys will go on to air on February 4, in Los Angeles. It will be held inside Crypto.com Arena, in the downtown area. CBS will continue to air the Grammys, as well.
