Coi Leray launches Camp Courage Foundation and holds cooking event for youth

Coi Leray launches Camp Courage Nonprofit Foundation
In a heartfelt gesture blending artistry with philanthropy, Coi Leray, the acclaimed rapper and artist, launched the Camp Courage Nonprofit Foundation in her hometown of Paterson, NJ. This initiative aims to uplift at-risk youth through education and creativity, starting with a transformative culinary workshop at the Great Falls Youth Center.
The foundation’s debut coincided with Leray’s role as a special guest on Jhené Aiko’s Magic Hour Tour, showcasing her dedication to both music and community. Prior to her performance that evening, Leray engaged 25 elementary and middle school students in an interactive cooking class. The session was designed to teach the young participants the art of cooking simple yet delicious recipes using basic ingredients.
Under Leray’s guidance, the youth enthusiastically crafted homemade nachos and indulged in root beer floats, all while learning essential culinary skills and fostering a love for wholesome meals. Leray’s passion for cooking, evident in her viral roadside cooking videos and her “COOKING WITH COI” YouTube series, resonated deeply as she encouraged the students to embrace independence and creativity in the kitchen.
Beyond culinary education, Leray emphasized the importance of healthy living by gifting each participant with Adidas gear. This thoughtful gesture aimed to inspire the youth to lead active lifestyles and prioritize self-sufficiency, reinforcing the foundation’s mission of holistic empowerment.
The event was a resounding success, filled with laughter, smiles, and a palpable sense of community spirit. Leray’s personal connection with the youth was evident throughout, as she shared stories of her own culinary journey and connected with them on a personal level.
