Coi Leray is currently one of the biggest breakout artists of 2021 and she has the hits to back them up. She is currently buzzing with her “No More Parties” remix featuring Lil Durk as well as “Big Purr” feat. Pooh Shiesty. The New Jersey native is also trending due to her feuding with her father, Benzino.
Many know Benzino as a star on “Love and Hip-Hop” Atlanta. He also released four hip-hop albums from 2001-2007. He and Coi haven’t seen eye to eye lately as she came out saying how she was embarrassed that he was her father. Benzino went on to say how the things she said about him were the most disrespectful that he’s ever heard. This is after the two went at it in a series of text messages. Coi also went on Instagram Live and claimed that Benzino wished she was a boy.
“Coi was raised in a mansion and had everything she ever asked for,” said Benzino at the time. My other 2 sons are grown and would never say these things.”
Now, it appears that Coi and Benzino are in a much better place as father and daughter. Coi took to her Twitter feed on Tuesday afternoon to show much different energy. She said that “I love my dad forever and always.” Coi even added some lyrics from Lil Durk’s 2013 “Understand Me” song to explain her situation.
“I do this for my family, they don’t understand me, no n*ggas around me , they don’t understand me. I do this for my crew they don’t understand I do this sh*t for you they don’t understand.”
Coi has since added that the music video for Big Purrd is on the way. She expressed excitement for this on Twitter as she said “The Big Prrdd video is about to be CRAZY.”
