“Empire” is easily the biggest show on television this season and it had a short debut run. Premiering mid-season, “Empire” only lasted for eleven episodes, with the finale airing on Wednesday. The show had record ratings every episode and was renewed for a second season, early on.
A major plus for “Empire” was their realistic take on hip hop, having a major star in each episode. They plan to do more of this in their second season. The stars are getting bigger and bigger for season two and more were announced.
Among the people who will guest star on “Empire” this upcoming season are Common and Oprah. Currently, Common is basking in the success of “Glory,” which won him an Oscar. In the case of Oprah, nothing has to be said about her, but her and Common on “Empire” is a major plus for the series.
