Common talks award nominations, “Glory,” Oprah, “Selma,” and more with Angie Martinez [VIDEO]

Certainly, Common has come a long way since his debut, all the way back in 1992. Not only did Common establish himself as one of the most-gifted emcees in the game, he is an all-around entertainer. Recent years have seen Common receive more acclaim for acting.

Recently, Common had a role in the film, Selma, which ended up winning him an Academy Award. The song he recorded for the film, “Glory (Selma)” featuring John Legend, did well. This song led up to Common performing at the Grammys.

After the Grammys, Common went to New York City and Power 105.1 invited him to come for a visit. Talking to Angie Martinez, Common talked about being a Grammy and Academy Award winner. He went on to discuss “Glory” with John Legend, Oprah, Selma, and the women he has had in his life.
