Not only is Common one of the most-acclaimed lyricists in the game, he is also a popular actor. He got his acting start doing bit roles on such shows as “Girlfriends,” before getting his own movies. Now, Common is moving into primetime television.

The Starz network is one of the premium television networks, known for exclusive content. Since 2014, it’s been the home of “Power,” the crime drama starring Omari Hardwick and Naturi Naughton. It appears as if the network is looking to add even more diversity.

This afternoon, Starz announced a new series in the works. One thing can be confirmed, off top, and it’s that Common is going to be the star of the show. The name, “Black Samurai,” however is only a working title, but RZA and Jerry Bruckheimer are the producers of the show.
