If you don’t remember, Lil Nas X has been fixture in music news since his breakout record Old Town Road debuted at number 19 on the Hot Country Charts. It was a unique and fresh take on country from a rapper’s point of view. It was making its way up the Country charts until Billboard decided to remove the record, claiming that it didn’t have “enough elements” to be considered a country song.
Well now Lil Nas X has landed a number one record. Old Town Road has reached to number on Billboards Hot 100 charts. Thanks to both the media attention and second life Bill Ray Cyrus added to the record with his verse on the remix, Lil Nas X has seemed to arrive with Old Town Road.
It appears that nothing can stop the rise of Lil Nas X. Even when certain forces in the industry tried to undercut his career and grind, the love and support of the culture had a different plan.
