Conway The Machine can’t contractually leave Griselda Records yet
Conway The Machine is one of the hottest rappers out of Griselda Records, as he is praised for his impressive lyricism. The Buffalo rapper also released his new “God Don’t Make Mistakes” album last month. That project featured 12 tracks, with appearances from T.I., Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Griselda rappers such as Benny The Butcher and Westside Gunn, and more.
Conway also recently revealed that he’s not signed to Griselda or Shady Records anymore, but he actually is still on Griselda, based on his contract. He recently spoke to The Breakfast Club about this situation, as he revealed that there were contents of his contract, that he didn’t read. Therefore, he can’t leave Griselda yet. This is all while Conway wants to venture to make other moves.
“When we did that shit in the beginning, I really wasn’t all the way, I’ma keep it a buck, I ain’t even read that contract, bro. I just signed that sh*t and moved on, but unfortunately the contract wasn’t in my favor.”
Conway did reveal though that he still has support for Griselda. He and Gunn originally started the label together.
“So now, going forward, it’s time to redo all that, I gotta make sure if it’s in my favor. Ima wave the Griselda flag regardless because I built that, I was hands on with that, me and West. So we can figure something out, which I’m sure we will. That’s the first situation I’m talking to like, ‘West, what we gonna do?’”
