#Cookie always has them one-liners, but when she called Diana a “fake a** Clair Huxtable”… #Empire has Clair Huxtable trending on Twitter

What makes “Empire” notable is the big names they bring in. Coming into season three, they wanted to do more than stunt cast. Taking Cookie’s (Taraji P. Henson) heartbreak over Lucious (Terrence Howard) marrying Anika (Grace Gealey), they introduced a new family.

Cookie met an aspiring politician named Angelo DuBois (Taye Diggs), who was running for mayor of New York City. Lucious was an early supporter, until he realized Angelo was trying to get with Cookie. Due to this, she met his mother, Diana (Phylicia Rashad), who warned her.

Last week, Cookie proved she did not adhere to Diana’s warning. In light of this, Diana declared war on the Lyons, which Jamal (Jussie Smollett) tried to diffuse, but the DuBois’ are pressing on, anyway. Before the end of episode drama, Cookie set Twitter on fire, when she called Diana a “fake Clair Huxtable,” for all of those who know Phylicia Rashad’s history.
