Cops seek migrants in brutal Times Square mugging of tourist
In a shocking attack, police are on the hunt for two suspects believed to be migrants. They brutally assaulted and mugged a tourist outside a Times Square hotel. The assault took place on May 10 at around 2:30 a.m. in front of the Club Quarters Hotel on West 45th Street. As a result, the police are trying to get to the bottom of things.
The 44-year-old victim from Indiana was savagely beaten by the duo. After that, they fled on foot with his phone and wallet. The suspects were thought to be living in nearby migrant shelters. They punched and kicked the tourist during the attack. Despite the severity of the assault, the victim declined medical treatment. However, the police are still trying to find the suspects.
Police have released surveillance images showing the two suspects. One of whom was seen wearing a ski mask at the time of the crime. As a result, the NYPD is appealing to the public for help in identifying and locating the perpetrators.
“We urge anyone with information about these individuals to come forward,” said a police spokesperson.
This brutal incident adds to the growing concerns about crime in the area and the challenges in managing the influx of migrants staying in local shelters.
