Cordae explains how he linked with Lil Wayne and Stevie Wonder
A few years ago, the YBN movement took over the internet, as these young kids came together. The group’s leader, YBN Nahmir, went viral and took over in 2017. Soon, he introduced the other crew members, YBN Almighty Jay and YBN Cordae.
For reasons outside of music, Almighty Jay ended up making major headlines in 2018. As the group was beginning to take off, Cordae decided to drop “YBN” from his name. While this upset Nahmir, Cordae insisted there was no beef, and said he changed his name, because they gave up ownership of it.
When it comes to artistry, Cordae is widely-regarded as the most-talented member of the crew. He began to vastly expand his musical limits, after leaving YBN. Among the people he has worked with include Lil Wayne and Stevie Wonder. There are a lot of fans who say Cordae has the potential to become a legend in the game.
Recently, Cordae appeared on “The Breakfast Club,” where he spoke to DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God. In their interview, he explained his perspective and his thoughts on humility, given the turns his career has taken. The Maryland rapper also explained how he linked with Lil Wayne and Stevie Wonder.
