Cracker Barrel trends on Twitter, after a person points out a whip in the restaurant’s logo, and now a discussion about racism and the racist term of “cracker” has emerged
It’s typical for people on Twitter to make a restaurant trend, especially a chain. Normally, this is due to a debate over the best food, or which restaurant is more exclusive. But, rarely is there a real race debate, unless something happened at a restaurant.
Cracker Barrel has longtime been a favorite restaurant chain. Definitely, Cracker Barrel is inspired by old-timey country living. An inconvenient truth about old-timey country living is that racism was the way of life, back then, saying the absolute least.
On Twitter, the above photo is the reason Cracker Barrel is trending. A person shared this, along with commentary about never noticing the whip. This has sparked an entire discussion about race and racism, along with where the term “Cracker” came from, along with people criticizing Black people about eating at that restaurant, as some even go as far as accusing the establishment of having a racist history.
