Last night, DaBaby made major headlines, when an Adidas shoe was thrown at him, during his Rolling Loud performance. A lot of people questioned why someone would do this to him. As always, there’s more to the story, as he actually went on a homophobic rant.
The past decade has seen a transition, even in hip hop, when it comes to the LGBTQ community. While few male rappers have come out, some have. Meanwhile, there are many out female rappers, with Young M.A becoming a sex symbol, of sorts.
DaBaby, though, went on a rant about men being closeted gay. His rant had cruel things to say about men performing oral on men, but not admitting to it. These comments are what led to someone in the crowd throwing a shoe at him, as fans called him out for his homophobic comments.
