Yeah, this one just went final, Rockets 105, Thunder 99. It really isn’t a surprise that the Houston Rockets won this series. Given all that happened, it’s a wonder the Oklahoma City Thunder even made the playoffs.
When Kevin Durant left for the Golden State Warriors, everyone knew that Russell Westbrook had his work cut out for him. Like a boss, Russ went to work, killing all suspicion of him leaving. Doing what KD didn’t do, Westbrook signed an extension with Oklahoma City.
That legacy that was all for Kevin Durant for the Thunder is now officially over. Russ left it all on the floor, tonight, averaging a triple double in the playoffs and making this one of the most-interesting 4-1 series in NBA history. Dude did it all, keeping the Thunder among the top three West teams, early on, before they settled at six.
With the season over, and all of that effort, Russell Westbrook is seeing himself the leading trending topic on Twitter. The trend is “Damn Russ,” recounting all he went through to still lose. But, for real, for what he went through this season, and what he did with it, Russell Westbrook is the real MVP.
