Eleven years ago, David Banner emerged as the first rapper to make it big from Mississippi. With his “Like A Pimp” single, Banner put himself on the map. But, David Banner proved to be much more than the typical Southern rapper. Instead, David Banner became a very vocal voice within the hip hop community to the masses.
David Banner, as he gained his independence, added many thought-provoking lines to his music. This is noted in such songs as “Cadillac on 22s,” which was some of his earlier work, and even with a song he sampled from Lil Wayne. Years have passed since then, but the message from David Banner has remained the same.
This year, David Banner was featured in the cyphers at the BET Hip Hop Awards. When it came time for him to do his verse, David Banner delivered some of those lyrics he is known for, addressing the community. His audience on Twitter was left amazed and they are still talking about it.
