David Banner talks BET cypher, hip hop saving him, depression, and more with DJ Scream [VIDEO]

Anytime David Banner makes his return to the game, he does something that’s thought-provoking. Back in 2008, David Banner flipped Lil Wayne’s massive hit, “Lollipop,” for a song to really make people think about the state of the urban community. It’s been six years since then and David Banner’s latest move was at the 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards.

During the BET Hip Hop Awards weekend, DJ Scream talked to Hip Hop Vibe about the impact he’s having on the game. The impact not only includes the music, but also his work as a media personality on the radio. Hoodrich Radio is one of the hottest radio shows out and David Banner is the latest guest.

David Banner visited DJ Scream at Sirius XM and he talked about some of what makes him tick. Off the bat, they addressed David Banner’s thought-provoking lyrics and the cypher and he said he just is what he is. He went on to speak on the impact hip hop’s had on his life, going through depression, and much more.
