Davido, Wizkid, Lil Baby, Latto, Sexyy Red and more to perform at Afro Plus Fest

Afro Plus Fest to feature Davido, Wizkid, Latto and more

Afro Plus Fest is returning bigger than ever in 2026. After a successful debut that drew thousands of attendees and generated millions for the local economy, the Afro-Caribbean and hip-hop festival is expanding into a three-day experience. This year’s event features some of the biggest names in global music.

Set for Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 4-6, 2026, Afro Plus Fest will take over the Northwest Stadium Complex in Landover, Maryland. The lineup is led by Davido, Alkaline, and Wizkid. Additionally, organizers expect as many as 120,000 attendees across the three days. As a result, the festival could become one of the largest Black music and cultural events on the East Coast.

Afro Plus Fest Builds on a Successful Debut

Billed as the World’s Largest Afro-Caribbean Hip-Hop Festival, Afro Plus Fest launched in 2025 as a one-day event at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. The inaugural edition attracted around 20,000 people. It also generated an estimated $10 million in local economic impact.

Now entering its second year, the festival is making a major leap. It is expanding to three days and moving to the larger Northwest Stadium Complex in Prince George’s County.

The new venue gives organizers more room for bigger crowds and larger stages. Moreover, it allows for additional cultural experiences while preserving the community atmosphere that made the first festival a success.

Festival co-founder Wale Awosanya said the expansion was driven by the community’s enthusiasm.

“With the support of the Prince George’s County Executive Office and Northwest Stadium, Afro Plus Fest is bringing the full diaspora home to Prince George’s County,” Awosanya said. “This year is bigger because the community demanded it be bigger. This one’s for the people who raised us.”

The move is also significant for Prince George’s County. The region has become one of the country’s leading hubs for Black culture and entrepreneurship. Therefore, local officials see the festival as a major opportunity to showcase the county on a global stage.

Davido, Alkaline and Wizkid Headline the Festival

The festival’s 2026 lineup reflects its mission of celebrating the African diaspora through music and culture.

Friday belongs to Davido, one of the most influential figures in modern Afrobeats. The Nigerian superstar has played a major role in taking African music to audiences around the world.

Meanwhile, Saturday will feature dancehall favorite Alkaline. The Jamaican star has built a loyal fan base thanks to his energetic performances and chart-topping hits.

Finally, Sunday will close with Wizkid. The Grammy-winning artist has become one of Africa’s biggest global stars through successful albums and collaborations.

Beyond the headliners, Afro Plus Fest has assembled one of its strongest lineups yet.

Special guests include Lil Baby and Latto. In addition, Chief Keef and Sexyy Red will appear as part of “The Perfect Storm.”

Other performers include Adekunle Gold, Olamide, Sarkodie, Tiwa Savage, Odeal, Spice, Dexta Daps, Bien, Ruger, Fridayy, Victony, Young Jonn, Gabzy, Jada Kingdom, DJ Tunez, Ricky Platinum, No11, Poco Lee, Compozers and Kingsmen.

The lineup highlights the growing influence of global Black music. Today, Afrobeats and dancehall regularly appear on international charts. Consequently, festivals dedicated to these genres continue to grow in popularity.

Amapiano and International Sounds Take Center Stage

Afro Plus Fest is also embracing the explosive rise of Amapiano.

The festival’s “Piano District” stage will feature DBN Gogo, TXC, Kelvin Momo, Tyler ICU, Jazzworx, Thukuthela, GL Ceejay, Musa Keys, Skyla Tylaa and Mobu.

Amapiano has become one of the world’s fastest-growing music movements. Over the last several years, the South African genre has gained fans across Africa, Europe and the United States. Therefore, its inclusion at Afro Plus Fest reflects the genre’s growing international impact.

Meanwhile, the festival’s “La Vibe” programming will feature Tayc and Didi B. Their performances will add another global dimension to the weekend.

Together, these artists show how Afro Plus Fest continues to embrace different sounds from across the African diaspora.

The Festival Also Celebrates Local Talent

One of Afro Plus Fest’s biggest goals is creating opportunities for local artists and entrepreneurs.

The “Made in the DMV” stage will spotlight talent from Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. The lineup includes Mannywellz, Foggie Raw, New Impressionz Band, Yung Manny and Flow & Friends.

The local showcase gives rising artists a chance to perform alongside international stars. As a result, the event can help expand their audiences and create new opportunities.

Festival organizers are also bringing back their curated marketplace. It will feature food vendors, fashion brands, creators and Black-owned businesses from across the region.

The marketplace has become a key part of the festival experience. Attendees can discover new products while supporting local entrepreneurs.

Prince George’s County Executive Aisha Braveboy said the event goes far beyond entertainment.

“This partnership represents more than entertainment; it is about economic growth, cultural pride, tourism, and creating opportunities for local businesses, artists, and residents to benefit from an international-scale event hosted right here in our county,” Braveboy said.

More Than Just a Music Festival

Afro Plus Fest is built around the idea of “Africa, plus more.” Therefore, the experience extends far beyond the concert stages.

Festivalgoers can enjoy food from across the African and Caribbean diaspora. They can also explore fashion activations, cultural exhibitions and interactive experiences.

The event aims to bring together people from different backgrounds through shared traditions and music.

As Afrobeats, Amapiano, dancehall and hip-hop continue to grow, festivals like Afro Plus are becoming increasingly important. They create spaces where fans can celebrate culture and connect with one another.

In addition, they highlight the worldwide influence of Black music and creativity.
