Kendrick Lamar is currently dominating with the biggest record of the year and the Drake diss track, “Not Like Us.” The Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping hit’s highly anticipated music video was released last week, and impressively reached 20 million views in 24 hours, on YouTube. Currently, it stands at 40 million views.

Meanwhile, one of Kendrick Lamar’s close friends and the newest member of the Sacramento Kings, DeMar DeRozan, is now speaking on the Kendrick-Drake beef. In a new interview with Fox 40 Sacramento, the fellow Compton native explained how he likes Drake and his music, but is very close friends and on a family level with Kendrick. This comes after DeRozan joined Kendrick on stage during his Los Angeles concert, in June.

“Love Drake, always can play him,” DeRozan explained. When it came to Kendrick Lamar, though, there was a different level of loyalty. “Kendrick been a friend of mine. Damn near family. We both from the same city. Grew up damn near in the same neighborhood, it’s always been there.”

Last weekend, DeMar DeRozan was traded from the Chicago Bulls to the Kings. He now joins a team that is expected to contend in the Western Conference, as he is now playing alongside DeArron Fox, Malik Monk, Domantas Sabonis, and more.
