Earlier this week, it was reported that Dick Gregory had been hospitalized. At 84 years of age, being hospitalized means a lot more than it would for a younger person. Over the past fifty years, Gregory has been instrumental in the black culture.
Like many other activists, Dick Gregory was adopted by the hip hop culture. In recent years, he has appeared on such platforms as “The Breakfast Club,” among many others. This week saw Gregory make the headlines for the last time, among the living.
Just minutes ago, news broke of Dick Gregory’s passing and Twitter is in disbelief. The people have flocked to social media to send their respects to his loved ones. It is very unfortunate to see another OG leave, but he is going to a better place.
