Diddy returns Key to NYC after Cassie assault video leaked

Over the past month, Diddy’s reputation has continued to take an even bigger hit. That came as a result of footage from March 2016 being released, in which he was seen attacking his then on-and-off girlfriend, Cassie. At the time, that incident took place inside of a Los Angeles hotel, in the Studio City area of the city. Diddy apologized in a video two days later, which many believed it to not be geniune. Moreover, that also came after Cassie settled a sexual assault lawsuit with Diddy, in the fall. Various other sexual assault lawsuits against Diddy arrived that week, as well.

Meanwhile, Diddy continues to take more losses, following the Cassie assault video. The latest is that he has now returned his key to New York City. That came as a result of NYC Mayor Eric Adams requesting this return, in a letter sent to Diddy, according to TMZ. Letters were obtained by the outlet, which were sent to both Diddy’s NYC and Los Angeles offices.

As a result, Diddy is said to have returned the key on June 10. He initially received the letter on June 4.

“Like many people, I was deeply disturbed by recent video footage of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs assaulting his then partner,” said Mayor Eric Adams. I strongly condemn these actions and stand in solidarity with all survivors of domestic and gender-based violence. Our city has worked tirelessly to make sure survivors are heard and seen by our administration.”

Earlier this month, Diddy’s honorary degree from Howard University from 2014 was also revoked. Moreover, his $1 million donation also went on to be returned.
