On a daily basis, there are countless photos that hit Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook that show people who are different. More times than not, these people who look a bit differently are shown and turned into jokes. But, what many fail to realize while posting these jokes are that these are real people.
Shaquille O’Neal made a name for himself as a jokester in the NBA during the nineteen years he played. When he posted the photo of the young man in the photo to the left, surely he did not mean any harm. What he did, however, was harm this young man, who happens to be disabled.
Suffering from a disease that renders him unable to sweat and left his teeth undeveloped, the man had his feelings hurt badly. After Shaquille O’Neal made the joke, others including Waka Flocka Flame picked up on it. The Detroit native talked to Fox 2, as they featured him, and he explained his disease.
