There is a lot of focus on the Toronto hip hop scene. This focus on Toronto hip hop began with Drake and his rise to prominence. Drake eventually signed with Young Money, as he and Lil Wayne already had been working together. On the mixtape scene, there are several other rappers and figures.
DJ Cortez is one of the biggest emerging DJs in the game. Hailing from Toronto, he has built a solid following in the South. Fellow DJs also respect DJ Cortez, evidenced by those he works with, including DJ Junior. Currently, DJ Cortez is working on his latest mixtape, Glocks & Kilos, Vol. 8, alongside DJ Austy and DJ Dynamite.
Hosting the mixtape will be BMF’s TK100Rackz and there will be music from many of the biggest names in hip hop. In addition to Waka Flocka Flame, Gucci Mane, and other established artists, independent artists will also have a chance to be featured on this upcoming release. No release date has been specified.
