Even though he is a native of Philadelphia, DJ Drama helped bring out a new element of Atlanta hip hop. His career led to him helping many artists gain prominence, including Rich Homie Quan. As it stands right now, Rich Homie Quan has the most promise in Atlanta.
Rich Homie Quan scored a big hit in “Type of Way” in 2013. He followed this up with “Walk Thru” in 2014, featuring Problem. Outside of this, he also has done plenty of work with Young Thug, Birdman, and Cash Money Records, but Rich Homie Quan is stepping back from this.
DJ Drama and Rich Homie Quan were in Austin for SXSW 2015. Every year, Sway is also down there to do his annual SXSW takeover. There were other talents sitting there, but this interview was DJ Drama and Rich Homie Quan, as they also talked about Atlanta hip hop, and the Rich Gang/Young Thug stuff, with Quan saying he’s pretty much done.
