Despite how good it was for hip hop, there were many who were turned off when Jay-Z and Nas ended their longstanding feud. Both titans of New York had an unspoken rivalry until 2001, when they clashed. One of hip hop’s most-legendary feuds came out of the struggle.
DJ Kay Slay was among the people disappointed when Nas made amends with Jay-Z and it led to him falling out with the Queens emcee. Upset with Nas and Jay-Z’s blossoming friendship, DJ Kay Slay warned Papoose about working with him. Not liking the situation, it led to Papoose not working with Nas.
Recently, Vlad TV sat down with DJ Kay Sloay and he revealed the details about the situation behind the scenes. In the media, Papoose gained a lot of attention when he was asked about Jay-Z’s legacy, saying “he’s alright.” DJ Kay Slay explained why he told Papoose not to sign with Jay-Z.
