On Friday, DJ Khaled released his highly anticipated 12th studio album, “Khaled Khaled.” This project was led by the 2020 hit singles, “Greece” and “Popstar,” feat. Drake. The project contained 14 tracks in total with appearances from Lil Baby, DaBaby, Jay Z, Nas, Megan Thee Stallion, H.E.R., Justin Timberlake, and more. The day before Khaled Khaled was released, Khaled revealed that Cardi B was a last minute addition to the song, “Big Paper.”
Earlier this week, Khaled also posted a photo of Kanye West in his home. Many believed that this was new and surprising due to West being seen with his wedding ring on and Khaled saying it happened “the other day.” This came off as a shocker due to him currently still going through his divorce with Kim Kardashian.
Khaled recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight regarding the Kanye photo. He revealed that this was actually taken when his Khaled Khaled was first starting to get recorded.
“First of all, God bless him and his family, remember this was a while ago, and when I say a while ago, like, when I was first starting to create my album. And I was just playing him song ideas I had so this was long, not too long ago, this was like way before, you know, all that and I want to send my love to him and his family and his kids, you know what I mean? God bless him and his whole family, you know?”
Khaled also spoke on how he and West linked up that day. West suddenly showed up to Khaled’s backyard and asked his chef to make him some scrambled eggs.
“One of my team members knocked on the door, ‘Yo, Khaled, Mr. West is in your backyard,’ so I go to my backyard and he’s eating scrambled eggs with ketchup because he asked my chef to make them and some vegan bacon. “And we was just kicking it, catching a vibe, and catching up and he gave me a surprise visit. We ended up going into my studio of my house and we just ended up playing each other music. And there was just a vibe, you know what I’m saying? It was just a vibe and, like, you know, I was grateful to have a great conversation with him but at the same time hear some of his music, and he heard some of my music.”
Khaled’s Khaled Khaled album is also on pace to become the number one album in the US this week with between 80,000-100,000 units. This would be Khaled’s first number one since 2017’s “Grateful.”
