DJ Skee talks Spotify vs. TIDAL, reveals Jay Z and Beyonce will drop their joint album exclusively on streaming service

DJ Skee Skee TVThis year, Jay Z dominated music headlines, but this is something he’s done for almost twenty years. Many credit Jay Z for being the main artist to find success on the business side of the music industry. He took this to the next level when he purchased Spotify competitor, TIDAL.

What initially seemed like a silent deal became very public when Jay Z welcomed Beyonce, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, J. Cole, Usher, and many other artists as partners. Following this, the major labels became partners. Early on, TIDAL was a big success, now not so much.

Instead, Spotify has picked up more downloads and purchases, which once did not look likely. Many have credited the recent TIDAL failures to them not having many exclusives. But, DJ Skee revealed this will soon change, as the rumored Jay Z/Beyonce joint album will soon exclusively drop on TIDAL.
