Former friend and collaborator, turned enemy, and then friend and collaborator, again, Ja Rule, proved age and abscense has no effect on the present. In many ways, DMX and Ja Rule’s careers reflect each other, almost mirror-like. Both rappers were signed to the same label and experienced peaks at the same time. While different circumstances led to them being away from the game, both rappers were away from the game.
If the careers of DMX and Ja Rule continue to reflect each other, DMX should soon be releasing his next album. Throughout his career, DMX has worked with his fair share of female singers, who have performed on his hooks. DMX wants to keep this trend going on his new releases. However, since his time away, the names and faces have changed. Aware of this, DMX wants to work with some of the newer female acts, along with a certain veteran.
DMX discussed his hopeful future collaborations with XXL. The Yonkers rapper said he would love to have a track with Adele and Sade. A few years ago, Sade released her first album in a decade. Her new music caught the attention of many rappers. Drake, at the time working on his debut album, reached out to Sade for a collaboration, being turned down. Jay-Z, however, successfully landed a Sade collaboration. DMX has had choice words for both rappers, but would not let it stand in the way of him working with Sade. With his situation with Drake, DMX would have another punchline against the rapper.
