Doja Cat is first rapper to reach 1 billion Spotify streams in 2022

Doja Cat continues to be one of the biggest artists in the world, as this has been the case, for over two years now. Last year was arguably the best one of Doja’s career, as she had some of the biggest singles in the world, as well as one of the hottest albums.

In April 2021, Doja released her “Kiss Me More” single ft. SZA, as that debuted at number three, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It went on to go 2x platinum in the US. Kiss Me More also appeared on Doja’s third studio album, “Planet Her,” that summer. That project debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart, and spent three consecutive weeks on that spot. Planet Her also contained other hits, such as “You Right,” ft. The Weeknd, “Woman,” and “Ain’t Sh*t.” Other features also included Ariana Grande, JID, Eve, and Gunna.

Last week, Doja also made a huge appearance on Tyga’s new “Freaky Deaky” single, last week. That collaboration is expected to debut somewhere in the top 10, of the Hot 100, this week.

Doja has also now set a new milestone, to kick off March. According to Chart Data, she is now the first female rapper to reach 1 billion streams, in 2022. She had a lot of momentum carrying in from her success of 2021, and it is on full display, in accomplishing this latest Spotify record.
