Among the breakout stars of 2011 was Don Trip. Representing Memphis, Tennessee, Don Trip’s “Letter to my Son” single gained national media attention. Don Trip was also signed by Interscope Records, home to many of hip hop’s elite. In 2012, Don Trip plans to repeat the success of 2011 with his new wave of music. Earlier this year, Don Trip released his “Allen Iverson” single, which will be followed by his Guerilla mixtape.

AllHipHop.com sat down with Don Trip, talking with him about the “Allen Iverson” single and his upcoming mixtape. Produced by Cool & Dre, “Allen Iverson” has proven to be a true hit. Speaking on the song, Don Trip said the song is just showing how celebrities are human too. Don Trip admitted his career, in music, is not what Allen Iverson’s was to basketball.

Don Trip feels he goes through the same public scrutiny Allen Iverson went through in his career, despite his career not being on the level of Iverson’s. “Allen Iverson” is taken from Don Trip’s Guerilla mixtape, which is hosted by DJ Drama. Wale, Yo Gotti, and 2 Chainz will be among the guest appearances made on the upcoming release on February 24.
