Donald and Stephen Glover say that racist comments were made, in London, while filming “Atlanta” season 3

Atlanta cast says racist comments were made while filming in London

“Atlanta” season three is finally set to air on FX, on March 24. The episodes will also be available to stream on Hulu. It was also announced this week, at “Atlanta’s” TCA press conference, that season four will be the final season of the popular TV series. The fourth season is scheduled to air sometime this fall.

Now, more information is surfacing from “Atlanta’s” TCA press conference. Stephen Glover, who is Donald’s brother, went on to explain with Donald how they experienced some racism, while filming “Atlanta” in London. Stephen Glover is also one of the writers of the show.

Stephen Glover revealed that they were filming outside of a bar, during their first night in London. “A girl and two or three guys,” who were drunk noticed them, and appear to recognize Donald Glover.

“Mind you, all of the writers on Atlanta are Black. So, he’s making a reference that we all have hammers, and we can just break into this place, which we kind of ignored,” Stephen explained. “It was so insulting, but not insulting at the same time because it took us five minutes to fully understand. He got to a point of like if the insinuation was lost on us, he got specific and he was like, ‘You guys are Black, you’ve gone to jail and you do things like that.’ Like he kept doubling down on it.”

“We are just standing there, like, ‘What just happened?’” Donald added.

Donald Glover has since revealed that he originally wanted Atlanta to end after the second season. It’s been almost four years since season 2 concluded, as the final episode aired way back in May 2018.
