Lil Wayne established himself as one of the biggest rappers in the game and has remained the highest-selling rapper of the past five years. However, many feel this still does not give him the right to say some of the things he says. MTV News, yesterday, leaked footage of Lil Wayne saying he does not like New York City.
It was in New York City where hip hop was born and the city is currently enjoying a resurgence, as Nas, French Montana, and A$AP Rocky have enjoyed success. Others making moves in New York City include Donny Goines. Taking offense to the statement made by Lil Wayne, Donny Goines spoke out.
Donny Goines put together the picture, which can be viewed above, which serves as the artwork for his “Fuck Lil Wayne” single. Since stating his distaste for the Big Apple, several people have been on Lil Wayne’s case. Many of his collaborators, including the likes of Nas, Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z, and Ja Rule, who are from New York, have made anthems about the city.
