Fans had given up on Dr. Dre ever releasing a new album. Every couple of years, he would return with a new run of music, but never an album. But, his new deal with Apple, paired with the Straight Outta Compton movie premiere, inspired Dr. Dre to deliver a new album.
Two weeks ago, Dr. Dre released Compton, which also serves as the soundtrack to the new movie. Last week, the movie premiered and it debuted to record numbers. It would be a safe assumption to believe this would boost Dr. Dre’s album sales, too.
However, the predictions are in and they are telling an entirely different story. The album sales for Compton are expected to drop drastically, especially considering how some felt this would be the most-consumed album of all-time. But, upcoming sales are projected to be around 45,000 to 50,000 copies.
