Dr. Dre is close to taking legal action against Republican House Of Representatives member and known ignorant conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene. According to TMZ, this is due to her using his 2001 hit single “Still D.R.E.” in a video on Twitter.

Dre also spoke to TMZ, emphasizing that he wouldn’t let someone as hateful and divisive as Greene is.

“I don’t license my music to politicians, especially someone as divisive and hateful as this one.”

Dre’s lawyer, Howard King, also sent Greene a letter, condemning her using Dre’s music.

“Mr. Young [Dre] has not, and will never, grant you permission to broadcast or disseminate any of his music. You would have a passing familiarity with the laws of our country. It’s possible, though, that laws governing intellectual property are a little too arcane and insufficiently populist for you to really have spent much time on. We’re writing because we think an actual lawmaker should be making laws not breaking laws, especially those embodied in the constitution by the founding fathers.”

King also added that Greene must send a confirmation by January 11, 2023, by 5:00PM PT, that she will comply with these demands.

Greene went on to respond to this letter, to TMZ. She bashed Dre and his music, by claiming that she would never use it, in general.

“While I appreciate the creative chord progression, I would never play your words of violence against women and police officers, and your glorification of the thug life and drugs.”
