Following the Straight Outta Compton success, there was an immediate rise in biopics. On television, “The New Edition Story” was a major success, leading to “The Bobby Brown Story,” both of which were popular BET programs. Meanwhile, Compton spawned spinoffs.

Michel’le would do her own Surviving Compton movie, which was not an official spinoff. That movie detailed her time with Dr. Dre, and later with Suge Knight. Aside from that, Dr. Dre had his own spinoff in the works, with Apple Music.

Since 2014, Dr. Dre has been a partner in Apple, and Apple Music was launched with his new album. With that, a Dr. Dre miniseries, “Vital Signs,” was not out of the question. But, Apple has decided to scrap the program, due to its excessive nature, boasting guns, sex, and drugs.
