Dr. Dre Says He Feels “Fantastic,” After Suffering From Brain Aneurysm, in January

Back in early January, the world suffered a scare, as Dr. Dre suffered a brain aneurysm. This was in Los Angeles, as he was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, in the middle of the night. Dre ended up updating his supporters, and revealed that he received excellent care.

Dre was released after being in hospital/ICU care for almost two weeks. Doctors were still at his home to monitor how he was doing, though. The cause of Dre’s aneurysm did not end up being discovered. Blood pressure appears to have been the factor though, according to him now.

In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, Dre discussed what he went through during that time, and currently he feels “fantastic.” Dre also explained how he’s always taken care of his health, but he did have issues with his blood pressure.

“It’s a really weird thing. I’ve never had high blood pressure. And I’ve always been a person that has always taken care of my health. But there’s something that happens for some reason with Black men and high blood pressure, and I never saw that coming. But I’m taking care of myself.”

Dre also encouraged Black men to make sure they check out their blood pressure, to make sure their health is up to par. He also added that he hopes from this point, he has a long life with no more issues to his heath coming in the future.

“And I think every Black man should just check that out and make sure things are OK with the blood pressure. And I’m going to move on and, hopefully, live a long and healthy life. I’m feeling fantastic.”

Dre is doing big things as well as he and Jimmy Lovine are opening their own school in Los Angeles. This will be opened in the fall of 2022. The Los Angeles Board of Education approved this plan last week.
