Dr. Dre will star in and executive produce new Apple Music series about his life

Last year was one of the biggest years in Dr. Dre’s career, following the biggest year of his career. In 2014, Dr. Dre made $800 million when his company, Beats by Dre, was purchased by Apple. This deal was expanded, last year, when Apple launched Apple Music.

Currently a booming success, Apple Music launched with Dr. Dre as their flagship. This coincided with the Straight Outta Compton film release, for which Dr. Dre released a new album. Now, Apple Music is joining Jay Z’s TIDAL with original programming.

Dr. Dre is to be the focal point of Apple Music’s first-ever original series, fitting. The new show is based on Dr. Dre’s life prior to joining NWA and will give insight into his earlier life. This new show will both star Dr. Dre and be executive produced by him.
