Dr. Dre’s “2001” album jumps 99 spots, to number nine, on Billboard 200 chart, with 220% sales increase, after Dre’s Super Bowl performance

Dr. Dre’s “2001” album climbs to number nine on Billboard 200
Dr. Dre is one of the most legendary rappers and producers of all-time, and that led to him performing at Super Bowl LVI, last weekend. Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Ice Cube also headlined that halftime show, at SoFi Stadium.
As expected, Dre’s music sales are now skyrocketing. According to Chart Data, Dre’s 1999 sophomore album, “2001,” is now number nine, on the Billboard 200 chart. It jumped 99 spots to reach this position, as it went up 220%, in sales. It’s the first week that 2001 has been in the Billboard 200’s top 10, since 2000.
2001 featured plenty of classic hit singles, such as “Still D.R.E.,” ft. Snoop Dogg, “Forgot About Dre,” ft. Eminem, and “The Next Episode,” ft. Snoop Dogg. 22 songs were available in total, as additional appearances included Kurupt, Xzibit, MC Ren, Mary J. Blige, Devin The Dude, and more.
2001 also originally debuted at number two, on the Billboard 200. It currently stands at 6x platinum status, in the US. Dre would be very quiet in regards to album releases for the next 16 years, as his next album didn’t come out until 2015, which was “Compton.”
