Drake is first artist to earn 200 million RIAA units as lead artist
This month, Drake had one of the biggest album releases of the year, with his “For All The Dogs” project. As a result, 23 new songs were included, such as singles like “Slime You Out” featuring SZA and “8AM In Charlotte.” Moreover, Drake also collaborated with 21 Savage, Sexyy Red, J. Cole, Yeat and more on For All The Dogs. Furthermore, “First Person Shooter” record with Cole even went on to debut at number one in the US, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Meanwhile, Drake is making even more history. According to Chart Data, he is now the first artist in RIAA history to surpass 200 million certified single units as a lead artist. Currently, he stands at 223 million units.
Drake also concluded his It’s All A Blur Tour, earlier this month. He wrapped up the tour with two straight concerts in his hometown of Toronto. 21 Savage was a special guest performer throughout the tour, as he joined Drake for the second Toronto show, after initially being denied entry into Canada, for the first show.
