Drake files motion in attempt to avoid going to deposition in XXXTentacion murder trial

Drake files motion to avoid deposition in XXXTentacion trial

Last week, a judge ordered that Drake is required to sit down for a deposition, in the XXXTentacion murder trial. This was as a result of defense attorney Mauricio Padilla, who represents Dedrick Williams, that Drake should be summoned. This was due to Drake’s previous feud with X. This trial initially began a week ago, almost five years after the shooting death of X, in June of 2018.

Drake is currently scheduled to appear at this deposition on February 24. However, he is now filing a motion in an attempt to avoid that, according to TMZ. This was done through Drake’s attorney Bradford Cohen.

Padilla reportedly sent Drake a Zoom link which was not under seal, and that puts Drake’s security at risk, especially given that he’s one of the biggest celebrities in the world. Padilla also did not reveal how the Zoom would be conducted. Therefore, Drake concluded that he shouldn’t be subpoenaed for the deposition.

Drake is also planning a massive tour, for 2023. This comes after releasing his “Her Loss” album, with 21 Savage, in November. That was another number one album for both artists, as Drake also had a number one album, last summer. That was “Honestly, Nevermind,” as he tapped into dance/EDM flows, and received praises for his versatility throughout the project.
