Ever since the 2010 release of Thank Me Later, Drake has been rumored to be leaving Young Money. In the spring of 2011, rumors began circulating about Drake leaving Young Money for Maybach Music. It was during this period of time when Rick Ross and Drake began spending time together. The two struck gold with “Aston Martin Music” and “Made Men.”
In mid-2012, it later came out that Rick Ross made a play for Drake. With Young Money’s activity dwindling over the past couple of years, Drake was carrying the ship and working closely with MMG. But, it was said that Drake kindly turned the offer down. Much like Nicki Minaj, however, Drake is focusing on the launch of his own record label, OVO.
There have been rumors of Drake and Jay-Z having talks about a Roc Nation deal. Of course, it was assumed that Drake was signing with Roc Nation. However, Drake still has no plans of leaving Young Money, but might have business with Jay-Z’s company. It looks like Drake will be doing business with Roc Nation on behalf of his OVO brand.
