Drake, Lil Wayne, and Birdman bring the Big Tymers back to life
In addition to the loss of the bass-filled “Cash Money sound,” the saddest part about Mannie Fresh leaving Cash Money Records was the end of the Big Tymers. To this day, Mannie Fresh insists his departure was strictly business. But, Birdman has not been as friendly about the split.
Ironically, following Mannie Fresh’s departure from the Big Tymers, Cash Money Records became a powerhouse record label. Along with a large number of successful artists, Cash Money Records also houses other labels. With so much going on, it felt like the perfect time to bring the Big Tymers back.
Recently, Birdman announced Drake and Lil Wayne would become the new Big Tymers, which Mannie Fresh spoke on. Not doubting the good music that will come, Mannie Fresh said they just are not the Big Tymers. However, Birdman, Drake, and Lil Wayne are the Big Tymers 2.0 and they made their official debut at DJ Khaled’s video shoot.
