Last year, Drake released his long-awaited debut album, Thank Me Later. Fans gravitated towards the album and critics deemed it a classic. Immediately following the release of the album, fans were already waiting on the second Drake album. Towards the end of 2010, Drake announced he would release a new album in 2011. Staying in front of the public eye in 2011, Drake said his next album would be called Take Care.
With Take Care now exactly one week away, Drake spoke with The L.A. Times about his debut album. While fans loved Thank Me Later, Drake said he was not pleased with the album. After the initial release of the album, Drake admitted he was rushed. Take Care was originally slated for a release in October. However, needing more time, Drake delayed the album until November 15 and is proud of the album he has in store.
Drake said Take Care has shown his growth as an artist and a person. Unlike his debut album, his new release also shows his consistency. On this album, nothing is out of place and Drake said he had the proper time and thought process to express what he was feeling on this album. Because of this, Drake feels his new album has more substance than his previous album.
