Drake is one of the biggest and most influential artists in the world. He also frequently gives back, to various communities, including in his home country of Canada. Now, his latest humanitarian work involves working with LeBron James.
On Wednesday night, Drake posted a video of himself with NBA superstar, LeBron James. There, Drake told LeBron that he will be donating $1 million to LeBron’s I Promise School. This was announced in a restaurant in Drake’s hometown of Toronto. Drake added that he will deliver this donation in-person, as well. To no surprise, LeBron’s face lit up in excitement, and was extremely grateful.
This school is located in LeBron’s hometown of Akron, OH. It originally opened back in 2018, and is home to students from 3rd-10th grade. The Los Angeles Lakers player started this school, with his LeBron James Family Foundation.
Last week, Drake’s home team Toronto Raptors also fell to LeBron’s Lakers, in Toronto. The final score ended up being 128-123, in overtime, as Drake went viral for his facial expression, after Russell Westbrook made a three-point shot that sent the game into OT.
