As usual, Drake is in the midst of the biggest headlines in hip hop. But, it’s not all drama this time, instead it is all about his album release. The new album, If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late, is actually a mixtape and not an album, however.
Regardless of what Drake bills the project as, it has gone gold in a short week. When it comes to streaming, Drake has set several records, breaking his own along the way. On Spotify, Drake now holds the record for most streams in a week.
If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late checks in with 17.3 million streams in its first week, topping Drake’s last album, Nothing Was The Same, which previously set the record at 15.8 million streams. The new album/mixtape also set the record for most streams in a day with 6.8 million. All in all, a good effort for Drake’s unofficial fourth album.
