Not only did Drake set the record straight about wearing the UConn t-shirt when he visited ESPN, he discussed other topics. Few rap artists have embraced sports quite the way Drake has. When he first gained fame, Drake wasted no time making immediate friends with LeBron James and it’s grown.
While shouting out both Miami and the Heat every chance he gets, Drake is working as a creative consultant for the Toronto Raptors. As much as Drake loves America and shouts out the cities, he never stopped representing Toronto. This has helped open doors for the entire Toronto hip hop scene.
An even bigger look for Drake and Canada is him hosting the 2014 ESPN ESPY Awards. Drake discussed this with Avery Johnson, Jalen Rose, and Doug Collins when he appeared on ESPN’s “NBA Countdown” earlier this week. Once he set the record straight on college basketball, Drake spoke on his first venture into sports hosting.
