Drake’s “Certified Lover Boy,” becomes first rap album from 2021, to go 2x platinum

Drake had another very dominant year in 2021, as he put out two projects, and plenty of additional hit records. In September 2021, his sixth studio album, “Certified Lover Boy,” was released. That went on to become his sixth consecutive number one album, and spent four straight weeks at number one, on the Billboard 200 chart.

CLB. has now reached another huge milestone, to kick off 2022. According to Chart Data, it has sold over 2 million units. This now makes it certified 2x platinum in the US. CLB also becomes the only rap album from 2021, go to 2x platinum.

CLB contained 21 tracks, including collaborations with Jay Z, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Future, Young Thug, and more. The biggest recorded on the album ended up being “Way 2 Sexy,” ft. Future and Young Thug. Way 2 Sexy wasn’t a lead single, but definitely garnered the most buzz. “Knife Talk” ft. 21 Savage and Project Pat was also a fan-favorite.
