Drake’s Chart-Topping “What’s Next” Single Already Goes Gold in Over a Week

Drake continues to set epic records over the past week. On March 5, he delivered his three-track “Scary Hours 2” EP. This project contained the songs “What’s Next,” “Wants and Needs” feat. Lil Baby,” and “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” feat. Rick Ross.

All three of these songs ended up debuting at one, two and three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Drake became the only artist in history to reach this milestone as well. Now, “What’s Next” has already earned a plaque from the RIAA.

According to Chart Data, What’s Next is now at gold status in the US. This is after selling over 500,000 units. This record also leaked a week before Scary Hours 2 was released but fans were just as impressed when it dropped as when the leak first surfaced on social media.

Scary Hours 2 also reportedly sold 970,000 units in its first week. Drake fans were very anxious for some new music after his sixth studio album, “Certified Lover Boy,” was delayed in January. The wait is still on for rust project as there is still no new date. April has been a rumored release on social media, though.
