Drake’s “Take Care” not certified diamond after conflicting reports
On Tuesday, many reports surfaced, that claimed that Drake’s 2011 sophomore album “Take Care” reached diamond certification status from the RIAA. This was due to the belief that this classic album by Drake sold over the 10 million units that are needed to get to that historic milestone.
Meanwhile, there is now some clarification about Take Care’s diamond certification status, as the album hasn’t reached that status, just yet. According to Chart Data, the RIAA has its “own standards and UGC streams that are counted towards its 10 million total would not count for certification purposes.”
Furthermore, one of Drake’s producers, Chase N. Cashe, spoke to TMZ about the situation. Regarding Take Care’s current certification status, it’s at 8x platinum.
Take Care initially contained 20 tracks in total, and was led by singles such as “Marvin’s Room,” “Headlines,” “Take Care” featuring Rihanna, and much more. As a result, Drake went on to see a number one debut in the US, on the Billboard 200 chart. To this day, all of Drake’s six studio albums have debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
